Rob Ford's Personally Curated Award.
In 2024 Kris gave us an incredible personal project that went on to win FWA of the Year, called Food for Fish. It's rare for an individual to make another project at such a high level. You can tell Kris is humble by merely callling his latest portfolio "a prirate game." It's more than that, it's a visual delight throughout with exceptional playability and interactions.
As we enter 2026 Victor Costa gives us some hope for the year ahead with this stunning creation designed to help you sleep. The amount of love that he gave this project is crystal clear, from the animations to the superb sound design and all of the personal touches. For those still creating one page scrollers, this is your new benchmark.
6 years ago Bruno gave us his unique portfolio website, which became a massive scorer on FWA and FWA of the Month. It's included in my Web Design book too and will be in the upcoming FWA Autobiography. Now, in 2025, things have totally levelled up. Super high fives to Bruno for one of the most interactive websites we have seen all year.
AI video is everywhere yet the best examples I am seeing are coming from the pioneers of Flash. Enter Robert Lindström, Design Chapel... Co-Founder North Kingdom. He presents his first ever YouTube Short... WIPEOUT. OMG, it's epic.
I knew from the start this was going to be special and it appears to be an ongoing project so I will eagerly look forward to future updates. In some ways, I wanted more but I was sucked in and enjoyed the full experience. Definitely worth your time.
I loaded this up and immediately thought it deserved highlighting here. I then had some doubts but they were personal... would people think this "simple" site wasn't worthy? Hours later, I loaded the site up again and realised I needed to include it. It's far from simple, click on the "learn more" link on the site to find out how incredible this "simple" project is.
Wow, this one is just amazing. The moment it started to load I knew I was in for a treat. For me, this proves that the web isn't dead and creativity still lives. Such an interactive and explorable website. I salute the creator.
One of the most original personal portfolio sites I have seen in the last DECADE
Nike Better World, in 2011, gave us the single page scrolling website. For the last 14 years, we've had... single page scrollers and they have sucked the life out of creativity. FINALLY, today, a scrolling website with some originality!
It's been a while since I've seen an interface that is so progressive. Be patient if it takes a while to load.
It's the personal portfolio of Jordan Delcros and is the best personal portfolio I have seen in a long time. Super high fives Jordan. P.S. I see what you did there ;)
I saw this new site early today, also and wanted to highlight it as one not to miss. At a time when some of the biggest names in digital have disappeared from our screens or barely heard of... Resn continue to reign strong (thankfully). I particularly loved the Navigators' section, don't miss that with amazing animations from Le Cube:
Web design is going full circle right now. In the beginning we saw a lot of the coolness in web design studios' own websites. Then, they were all focused on client work and their own websites became dull. I've noticed recently, maybe due to the lack of work out there right now, agencies are making cool websites for themselves again. This was a submission at FWA and I felt a wave of freshness. I spent quite some time on the site.
